One of Jordan Design-Build Group’s renovations was recently featured as a ‘Houzz Bathroom of the Week.’ This honor is bestowed on select projects that catch the editor’s eye with their distinctive design and an interesting story to tell. We transformed a 1950’s Cape Cod – added a new ensuite bathroom with a generous shower, double vanity, and plenty of space left over for a separate walk-in closet. Humble brag time – hardware giant, Top Knobs, featured our stunning kitchen on the cover of their 2023 catalog. The honey bronze pulls are striking against the dark gray cabinets and add the perfect finishing touch to an already gorgeous kitchen.

At the turn of every New Year, design editors love to identify the home design trends they predict will be hot in the coming year. Houzz recently published 36 Home Design Trends Ready for Takeoff in 2021 and #11 on that list was the use of sconce lighting in the kitchen. The write-up featured our ‘Black and Brass’ Centreville remodel and noted that decorative sconces can add sculptural adornment as well as provide helpful task lighting. Virginia Tech Interior Design  |  Fall – ‘20 Program Newsletter

JDBG’s summer intern, Rebecca Sorto-Robles, was recently interviewed for Virginia Tech’s Fall 2020 Interior Design Newsletter. Each semester the newsletter features stories about students, faculty, and alumni, and the theme of this issue was ‘Recalibration’. The article aimed to shine a light on someone that took a ‘less expected path in their design career’. Rebecca recounts her internship experience at Jordan Design-Build Group and describes some of the highlights and  takeaways as well as what she enjoyed most about the design-build process. Earlier this year, Houzz featured one of JDBG’s renovations in their Kitchen of the Week series. From the eclectic cement tile backsplash to the nostalgic pressed tin ceiling, this kitchen is anything but cookie cutter and captures our client’s style to a tee. In early 2015, Jordan Design-Build Group relocated their offices to Main Street in Fairfax, VA. The new JDBG headquarters is located in a charming 1927 Sears mail-order home that was originally owned and built by a family of barbers. The family not only lived in the house, but also ran their business on the premises, often cutting hair on the front porch. The property later became the home/office of doctors, lawyers, as well as the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce. The JDBG team is all settled in and looking forward to renovating and rehabilitating the property sometime in the near future.
