Colorful Kitchen Renovation

Using a random selection of colorful cement tiles, we created a ceiling-high backsplash that acts as the focal point of the room. A custom banquette filled with colorful pillows anchors the light-filled corner of the kitchen and creates a cozy breakfast nook. We installed a richly patterned pressed tin ceiling to add vintage flair to an often overlooked part of a room. The eye-catching black trim makes the windows pop and completes this bold kitchen makeover.

JDBG’s kitchen renovation is featured in the September-October issue of Bethesda Magazine. The article, ‘Kitchens with Flair,’ highlights the bold and retro design elements that make this kitchen a stand-out. From the eclectic cement tile backsplash to the nostalgic pressed tin ceiling, this kitchen is anything but cookie cutter and captures our client’s style to a tee. “I engaged JDBG to renovate the kitchen and bathroom in my 1904 farmhouse. I was most impressed with their willingness to really listen to my goals regarding budget and design. David and Tamara’s technical knowledge helped us work through challenges presented by the age of my house. Shelley really understood my aesthetic and sourced some fabulous elements such as my colorful cement tiles and custom artisan glass window. The workmanship was impeccable. In addition to their creativity and competence, the team was unfailingly professional. I recommend them without reservation.”
