Timeless Kitchen Renovation
This Arlington, VA kitchen remodel features a large central island with ample room for cooking and entertaining. The island’s dark-stained maple cabinets and quartzite counter-tops provide visual contrast with the white cabinets and black granite along the perimeter. The marble subway tile with a framed herringbone accent above the stove adds a classic finishing touch.
We transformed the kitchen layout and more than doubled the size of the island in order to maximize counter space and overall function. We created a pass-thru to the living room and modernized the fireplace with a limestone tile surround and mantle made of reclaimed wood. Hardwood floors were sanded and refinished with a dark walnut stain to give the entire first floor a more updated look. The once dark and dated kitchen is now bright and vibrant—a cheerful gathering place for this growing young family.
